Week 6 of my half marathon training in complete!
This week, we decided to do a repeat of week 4, with our long run being 7 miles - mainly because last Saturday (week 5) was supposed to be an 8 mile run, but we did a 5k race. Training races, such as a 5k and 10k are built into our training program, but the dates didn't exactly match up to when our races are. So, we just decided to move a few things around to make it work for us.
Here's how it went down:
Tuesday: 3 mile run
Wednesday: 4 mile run + 20 minutes of yoga
Thursday: 3.1 mile run + 20 minute walk + 8 minute ab circuit
Saturday: 7 mile run + 20 minute walk + 1 hour yoga class
Sunday: cross training - 60 minutes in the arc trainer
For a little piece of motivation to start off the week, I saw this on my Pinterest board, and it spoke to me right away. We have the power to change our path - we get to choose, and that is a wonderful thing!
