A few weeks ago, the nice folks at Lock Laces sent me their 'patented elastic shoelace and fastening system' to try out.
Basically, Lock Laces are an upgrade for your shoes laces. They are made of elastic bungee-type material that you custom cut to your specific fit, and then lock into place with a sliding lock. After that, you will never have to tie your shoes again.
Made for competition, LOCK LACES™ is the only patented performance lacing system engineered to meet the demands of endurance athletes like runners, triathletes, marathoners, and walkers. Unlike other products, wearing LOCK LACES™ sustains compression across the foot increasing the amount of oxygen available to the muscles which helps endurance athletes manage fatigue.
Before using Lock Laces, I never really found myself having to stop during a run to retie my shoes. However, the annoyance for me has always been untying. I guess I tie one too many double knots or something. Anyway, Lock Laces solves that problem too.
My first run in Lock Laces was pretty uneventful. At one point, I even forgot I was wearing them. Although, I guess that’s the point. They worked so well that they were unnoticeable to me and my feet were totally comfortable throughout the entire run.
If Lock Laces sound interesting to you, I suggest trying them out since you can buy them at a fairly low cost: 1 pair for $7.99 (or $8.99 for reflective type) or 3 pair for $19.99 - - BONUS: there are several colors to choose from!
I will leave you with this 1 minute video from Lock Laces - check it out!
