Halloween was a last minute decision for us this year. We ended up deciding to go to a great friends' home for their Halloween costume party. Instead of fighting the crowds last minute at the costume stores, we thought of a couples costume that we could throw together with (for the most part) things from our closet... a hunter and a deer!
We had to make a few small purchases to complete to costumes - those items were:
- antlers headband ($9.99 at Michaels)
- toy bow and arrow ($6.49 at Wal-Mart)
- face paint ($4.99 at Michaels)
Everything else were items we already had! I used some construction paper, glue and string to make a bullseye target. And I threw on a plain cream long sleeve shirt, brown leggings, brown riding boots, and my new faux fur vest to complete the look. Josh had a couple camo shirts and hats to choose from for his hunter outfit :)
I received several comments on my deer face paint. Although I did paint my own face, I can't take credit for the idea. I searched for 'deer face paint' online and found a few photos that I tried to copy. I just used bronzer and white and black face paint.. that's it! It ended up being way easier than I originally thought!
The hunter and the deer had a wonderful Halloween with great friends :)
What did you dress up as for Halloween this year?
