Not only am I a planner, but I love to plan. I actually get a slight anxiety attack if things aren't planned out. (I'm working on improving this) :) To-do lists are one of my favorite tools for planning and getting things done. Mostly, I just love being able to cross things off after they are completed.
If you find yourself rushed in the mornings, or if you have an endless to-do list, I have included a few things that might help you prepare for the start of each week.
#1: Wash your sheets and make your bed. Wash away last week's junk. One of the best feelings is climbing into fresh, clean sheets on Sunday night.
#2: Complete the laundry and pick out your outfits for each day. Having your outfits picked out the night before (or for the entire week) can be extremely helpful, especially during a rushed morning. The last thing I want to do is stand in my closet deciding what to wear in the wee hours of the morning.
#3: Pick out your workout outfits and have them ready to go. This goes along with #2, but I will also add, that it helps me to stay motivated if my clothes are ready to go. If you go to the gym after work, pack your gym bag for the week or for the next day at least. No excuses that you forgot your workout clothes!
#4: Prepare meals for the week. If you don't do this for every meal, I would recommend at least planning dinners for each evening. Again, it is just another way to eliminate last minute stress, planning, and frustration. Plan ahead for a smooth week!
#5: Empty all your trash cans. Throw away last week's garbage and start out fresh on Monday! Enough said.
#6: Wipe down bathroom and kitchen counter tops. I suggest tidying up the entire house and even vacuuming (depending what your cleaning schedule is). A clean house is a happy house :)
#7: Check your calendar and create a weekly to-do list. (again with the lists, I know) Self-explanatory, but just know ahead of time what you have going on throughout the week. Also, it helps me to prioritize what needs to get done.
#8: Grocery shop / restock your refrigerator and pantry. I find it SO much easier when you have all of the ingredients and foods you will need to prepare each meal throughout the week. I have come to despise mid-week grocery trips because I forgot an item or two.
